Salty Wombs
2022/2023: Analogue photoemulsion on copper in steelframe

3* 20 x 14 cm and 1* 20 x 21 cm
„Why is our sweat salty?“ These among many questions as well as pictures of salty seawater hitting sweet landwater were found through online forums. They were collected and then exposed as analogue photographies onto copper plates. Tear- and oceanwater was partly used to rinse off the remaining chemicals in the darkroom.
Humanity have acquired the role of a geological force as posthumanist ideologies suggest. Our water, spore and salt content could therefore be understood as part of the earth‘s material stock. As we wither and become extinct our minerals and water returns back to the geochemical cycle of this planet.
